‘Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For God is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!’ Isaiah 30.18

Every Tuesday evening I take part in our college community on line. It’s called Tuesday College Night. If it’s one of my modules in the schedule, I lecture and occasionally lead our time of worship.

Recently we were led in a meditation based on one verse from Isaiah chapter 30 verse 18 and it has captivated me. I knew as I listened and pondered this verse that some paintings would subsequently flow. It was if a seed had been planted into me and I needed to show what I saw creatively.

This painting seeks to show the rising up of the Lord, represented as an eagle, soaring and rising up. It’s about his willingness to come to us and overshadow us.

This painting is created using acrylic inks, pens and acrylic paints and is painted on a thin edge canvas and measure approx 90cm by 60cm.
